I think you misread my reply… You are excessively focussed on details, Dr. Von Eduard. Are you doing this on purpose? Or are you, by chance, an editor or a sound engineer when you are not lecturing or doing research? These people, to use another Dutchualization, don’t see the forest through the trees anymore!

Dear colleague,

Due to our regular visits to the Netherlands where we both met at the Dutch Dog Behavior Symposiom and some years ago at the ICMIIMAHDMC (International conference on mental illness induced in mammals that adopt human desires to make careers), some aspects of the Dutch language have stuck to our vocabulary. We both say “behave themselves”, a direct translation from the Dutch “zich gedragen”. I wonder if this is not obvious, as it is very difficult to “behave someone else”.

Dr. von Eduard, you are getting on my nerves! First you talk about Hot Dogs, now you talk about Bad Dogs!!
The article you copied and pasted says that dogs need to be trained to : not bite, sit still, wait, shut up, etc. Tipical human behaviour to be imposed on dogs. In other words, dogs should behave as humans, not as dogs. The only free dog I can think of is Paffy, and an occasional stray dog out here in Sicily, where I own a summer home.
Paffy and Yffaps (Paffy’s Obsolete Alter Egos) base their choices on their instinct, just like humans, but act out of their own free will, unlike the majority of humans. Still I think the latter are the only real dogs on this planet.
